In Buddhism, these eight symbols of good fortune represent the offerings made by the gods to Shakyamuni Buddha immediately after he gained enlightenment.
Description

The origin of the eight auspicious can be traced back to the Indian Buddhist scriptures in Sanskrit or Pali.  There is a saying in traditional Buddhism: the "eight auspicious signs" represent the offerings made to him by the Vedics (one of the ancient Indian religions and many gods)
